JPEG Convert is an application designed to convert images to and from JPEG format using the Independent JPEG Group's JPEG software. This version of JPEG Convert uses version 4 of the Independent JPEG Group's software.
This archive file contains two (2) copies of the application. One compiled for use on 68000 machines and one compiled with instructions specific to the 68020 and 68881 processors. The 68000 version will run on all Macs, the 020/881 version will only run on machines with a 68020 (or 30 or 40) processor and a 68881 or 68882 math co-processor (the co-processor is built into the 68030 and 68040 CPUs). This software supports Macintosh systems 6 & 7.
NOTE: JPEG conversion is fairly memory intensive (especially with large images). While the Independent JPEG Group's software handles memory fairly well, raising the application's memory (with Get Info from the finder) is usually appropriate.
